**Description**
Oxford College, Emory University's residential liberal arts college, invites applications for a tenure-track position in Biological Anthropology to begin August 1, 2026. We seek candidates committed to teaching and mentoring a diverse population of motivated first- and second-year undergraduates. Oxford College faculty teach three courses per semester (or the equivalent), including a first-year Discovery Seminar every other year. The successful candidate will be prepared to teach a lab-based course in the methods of biological anthropology and an introductory course on evolutionary processes and the biological bases of behavior that is cross listed with the Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology program. Additional teaching responsibilities may include Anthropology 101 and elective courses in the candidate's area of expertise that foster student interest in biological anthropology and support Oxford's liberal arts curriculum. The Oxford curriculum emphasizes experiential, community-based, and global learning opportunities.
In addition to demonstrating a strong commitment to teaching excellence, the successful candidate will maintain a productive research agenda that includes scholarship subject to peer review. Candidates interested in engaging pre-health students in anthropology and in integrating first- and second-year students into their research are especially encouraged to apply.
