Epic Change Management Manager
(This position will involve some onsite work in Indianapolis, Indiana)
Responsibilities
- Supports the Change Management leader and Practitioners during organizational transformation initiatives. Collaborates with the Change Management Leader to develop and execute strategic plans aimed at the successful implementation, adoption, resistance management, and transfer of ownership of organizational changes ensuring stakeholder alignment and minimizing disruption. Collaborates closely with various stakeholders internal and external to the project team to minimize disruption and maximize adoption of new initiatives, software, systems, practices, processes, and optimizations. Manages a team of Epic Change Management practitioners, overseeing hiring, training, staffing, and performance management. Guides, tracks and measures the success of change initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and / or being able to show success of adoption. Drives and manages transformational change at all levels of the organization. Accountable for implementation of Change Management policies, processes, and procedures to drive results. Conducts Change Management assessments supportive of creating and executing comprehensive change management strategies and detailed project plans. Manages the implementation of the project plan while working independently and with limited supervision. Tracks progress against milestones, collect and analyze stakeholder feedback, and adjust change plans as needed. Conducts impact and adoption assessments, develop mitigation strategies, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and support employees in adopting new processes and technologies. Manages the transition of ownership plan to ensure a seamless handoff to the respective business leaders. Evaluates change initiatives, track the ADKAR journey, create feedback loops for improvement, and stay updated on industry trends and best practices. Identifies areas of resistance and work closely with teams to address challenges and ensure stakeholder buy-in. Provides hands-on support to teams and individuals during transitions, ensuring they have the resources and knowledge needed to succeed. Develops contingency plans to mitigate risks associated with resistance or unexpected setbacks in adoption. Identifies and engage key stakeholders, develops and implements change management plans, and conduct regular updates and feedback sessions. Collaborates with Epic Managers and other Epic project team members to integrate change management activities and ensure alignment with project goals. Develops and delivers change-related training programs to equip stakeholders with the knowledge and skills needed to lead through the change. Shares best practices and lessons learned from previous change initiatives to improve future efforts. Provides guidance and support to key stakeholders to help them effectively guide their teams through change. Develops and maintains change management governance and standards. Conducts research and stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in change management, and continuously improve the organizations change management capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Business, Psychology, IT, or a related field. Masters degree required.
- Certification in Change management is highly desirable (e.g., Prosci or APMG certification).
- Certification in Project Management is highly desirable (e.g., PMP certification).
- At least 5 years of experience with managing enterprise and/or system level change management for highly complex programs and/or 7 plus years of management experience in project management roles.
- At least 5 years of operations experience, ideally in a healthcare setting.
- Proven effective management experience in organizational change management, ideally in a healthcare setting.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate others to embrace change.
- Proven experience with leading in highly matrixed organizations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experienced with adult learning theory and training design principles.
- Proficient with managing change initiatives in a highly matrixed organization.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent strategic thinking skills, with the ability to quickly identify opportunities for change that support the organizations vision and mission.
