Researcher - Automated On-Chain Economic Security

Location: Remote - Preference for NYC but will accept USA + Europe remote working EST hours

Compensation: $120K - $150K

We are the first automated, on-chain economic security system, trusted by leading protocols to manage and secure billions of dollars in assets across the DeFi ecosystem. Our platform helps crypto protocols optimize risk management and capital efficiency by analyzing protocol mechanics and scenario implications using custom EVM simulations. We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Researcher to join our team, reporting directly to the Head of Economic Research & Strategy.

You will play a critical role in conducting in-depth protocol research, modeling risk parameters, and shaping strategic research initiatives across high-impact DeFi projects. This role requires a strong blend of quantitative analysis, risk modeling expertise, and clear communication to both clients and the broader community.

Responsibilities:

• Quantitative Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analysis of emerging DeFi protocols and products, focusing on Risk Modeling, Mechanism Design, and parameter optimization .
• Data & Insights: Analyze financial data to draw out specific insights for protocol requirements, leveraging key metrics for various financial analyses.
• Reporting & Communication: Develop and deliver professional, visually compelling reports and formal research papers for clients and the broader community.
• Collaboration & Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality outputs and contribute to the continuous improvement and innovation of our platform.
• Scripting: Be comfortable running and modifying Python scripts, and capable of writing basic Python scripts for data fetching and normalization to support research activities.

Requirements

• Experience: Proven experience in economic research, risk analysis, or a related quantitative field , with a preference for candidates with direct DeFi space exposure.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solid history of conducting data-driven research.
• Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills , capable of compiling and writing formal research papers and presenting findings to high-impact stakeholders.
• Technical Understanding: Proficient in reading and a strong understanding of smart contract code .
• Scripting: Comfortable running and modifying, and capable of writing basic, Python scripts for data manipulation and research support.
• Mindset: Strong team player with a passion for DeFi and blockchain technology.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves):

• Experience with smart contracts, blockchain protocols, and/or DeFi projects.
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with data fetching/normalization techniques.
• Knowledge of DeFi protocols, financial markets, and black-swan events is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with profiling tools and performance optimization techniques.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Location: Based in the United States (remote or from the Brooklyn, NYC office) or in Europe.
