Location Overview The Director of Housekeeping is responsible for managing the Housekeeping Department to ensure attentive, friendly, efficient, and courteous service, providing guests with a clean and safe environment while controlling expenses and maintaining service quality. Responsibilities Motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline Housekeeping and Laundry staff per Highgate SOPs. Ensure adherence to training standards and establish cleaning schedules. Maintain and control housekeeping equipment and supplies. Ensure compliance with safety and risk management standards. Conduct inventories and manage large guestroom turnovers efficiently. Manage vendor contracts and oversee hiring and training of staff. Inspect rooms and public areas daily for quality standards. Maintain cleanliness, security, and privacy standards. Manage work orders, staff scheduling, and payroll documentation. Promote communication and professionalism within the department. Handle VIP and special guest requests and monitor VIP rooms. Participate in team meetings and contribute to guest satisfaction scores. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of progressive hotel or related experience; or a 4-year degree with 1 year of experience; or a 2-year degree with 2+ years of experience. Supervisory experience required. Proficient in MS Word and Excel. Ability to work long hours and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and confidentiality skills. Attend all required meetings and participate in MOD coverage.
